Flatland Mama wrote on May 19, 2013: This park is awesome! It is a wonderful hike; offering both flatter & steeper terrains. When you reach the end of the 1/4 mile walk to LAKE CHAMPLAIN -- it will knock your socks off! There is a lovely pavilion there for community usage; as well as a beautiful black sand beach. The blue herons, and other water birds nest out on the sand bar at the mouth of the BOQUET RIVER where is meets LAKE CHAMPLAIN. This would be a great place for a great kayak or canoe paddle, as well as a nice day trip for the family to enjoy an inexpensive day on the Lake.
