What Is Distinctive And Authentic To The Character Of The Region

This bed and breakfast is an original Civil War era farmhouse, locally owned since 1979 and locally operated since 2005. Each  room is uniquely  decorated with antiques, braided rugs, original artwork and hand crafted items such as quilts, doilies, wooden ware and pewter. The rooms are themed after the owners children all who were born in the Adirondacks and raised within the walls.

Brunt Mill brook runs out behind the house and the original old stone walls frame the grounds. Both flower and vegetable gardens with native plants grow on the property. No visible neighbors except for the co-existing wildlife. The closest full time neighbors are a mile and a half away. An outdoor wood boiler serves for heating the structure from October through April. An indoor wood stove is  occasionally fired up for ambiance on those extra cold winter mornings..

We are one and a half miles from the backside of Eagle Lake where the boat accessible Crown Point State Campsite is located. Fleming Pond is a half a mile walk down the road. And the Penfield Museum is less than 3 miles from us.

The owners were instrumental in helping launch the Crown Point Chamber of Commerce this past year. The Stoney Lonesome Bed and Breakfast has hosted many a chamber business meeting.

Additional Notes

If you are desiring a chance to truly get away from it all then this is the place for you. Quiet, peaceful solitude with the sky full of stars at night. Good hiking right out the front or back doors, as well as marked trails in the Pharoah Wilderness area less than 10 minutes away.

If you are desiring a mix of city and country then you'll be pleased to know we are quite positional, about an hours drive from Plattsburgh, Lake Placid, Burlington, and the Lake George/Glens Falls area. We are under a fifteen minutes drive to the surrounding towns of Ticonderoga, Schroon Lake, as well as downtown Crown Point itself.
