Fort Edward holds a hidden gem in it's midst. Timeless Art Gift Shop and Cafe in the restored D&H train station on East st. is a depot for Amtrak passengers and a treasure trove of distinctive gifts to buy for that special someone or to treat yourself. Owners Kathi Presti and Denise Mayer are proud to have in their shop the work of over 50 local artists and crafts people on sale with such products as handmade hats and scarfs, honey, beeswax candles, pottery, photography, paintings, jewelry and much more. With a small cafe area serving coffee and local pastries, games to amuse the occasional passenger waiting for a train, and such friendly, gracious hosts, one could easily spend a couple enjoyable hours here.

 A number of the artists that sell their wares at the station reside in Washington County and such products as the hand knit wool items come from the wool sheared from local sheep. Many items such as postcards, magnets and photos feature area attractions and scenes.
