Moored on the Hudson River in Albany, New York, the USS SLATER has undergone an extensive fifteen-year restoration that has returned the ship to her former glory. Commissioned May 1, 1944, the USS SLATER is only one of 563 Destroyer Escorts built during World War II to remain afloat in American today.
Season and Hours Open
Open every Wednesday - Sunday 10am- 4pm April-November
An opportunity to maneuver the 40mm guns, see where the officers dined, and where the crew men slept. The entire ship is set up to recreate the experience of World War II sailors.
