Located at 1 Amherst Street in the back lower level of the historic Old County Courthouse in Lake George, the Lake George Arts Project’s Courthouse Gallery presents 6 exhibitions yearly of regional and national contemporary visual artists in all media. The gallery’s mission is to provide exhibition opportunities to emerging and professional artists, preference given to work created within the last 2 years, and to experimental or non-traditional work.

What Is Distinctive And Authentic To The Character Of The Region
The Lake George Arts Project was established in 1977 to offer comprehensive programs in the arts. Its mission is to provide exposure and income opportunities to professional and emerging artists, and to provide quality arts programming for the residents and visitors of the Lake George region.
Lake George Arts Project is a multi-arts presenter. Major programs include a Summer Concert Series, with concerts held each Wednesday evening during July and August featuring a variety of music; the Lake George Jazz Weekend, held on the third weekend of September presenting 6 to 8 contemporary jazz groups. LGAP is also known for fun and creative fundraisers including the Black Velvet Art Party each November; Bands 'n Beans, a chili and music event in March; and a cruise on Lake George in June.
