Robert Weible

Robert Weible served as the State Historian of New York and the Chief Curator of the New York State Museum from 2008 to 2015.  He had earlier worked in various capacities for the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (1989-2008): as Director of Public History, as Acting Director of the State Archives, and as Chief of the Division of History.  Prior to that, he was the first Park Historian at Lowell National Historical Park in Massachusetts (1979-1989).  Throughout his career, Weible has been active in state and national professional organizations, including the National Council on Public History, for which he served as President (2005-06).


Weible currently serves as a Board of Directors member with Lakes to Locks Passage in upstate New York and the Schenectady County Historical Society.
